Hidden Russian military cemeteries in occupied Donbas have significantly expanded — OSINT

OSINT researcher AS-22 has reported further expansion of hidden Russian military cemeteries in the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk region and Donetsk region.

According to the researcher, the two sites were first identified in November 2024. Since then, the analyst has continued to monitor their size using satellite imagery.

As of the end of August 2025, the cemetery in Donetsk region covered 0.24 km², while the one in Luhansk region measured 0.16 km².

However, over the past six months both sites have expanded considerably.

In particular:
— the cemetery in Donetsk region increased by 0.02 km², reaching 0.26 km²;
— the cemetery in Luhansk region nearly doubled in size to 0.29 km².

As a result, the Luhansk site has become larger than the Donetsk one and continues to expand rapidly.

The OSINT researcher notes that these cemeteries are used for the burial of Russian military personnel, and their growth may indicate significant losses among occupying forces.

It is also reported that more than 220,000 people in Belgorod region are without electricity. In Bryansk, a blackout occurred following a Ukrainian attack.
