Propagandists urged Muscovites to ignore large-scale drone attacks
Following the most powerful drone attack on Moscow since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russian Z-propagandists began urging local residents en masse not to worry about the explosions and airstrikes.
Despite official reports of at least 16 civilians wounded and the successful destruction of several strategic targets, pro-Kremlin media outlets have been actively touting the effectiveness of Russia’s air defense.
According to Russian propaganda outlets, the civilian population of the aggressor nation’s capital should simply ignore the threat from the sky.
In particular, Dmitry Steshin, a well-known military correspondent for the newspaper “Komsomolskaya Pravda,” expressed his conviction that there is no point in Muscovites panicking over the regular airstrikes.
He cynically advised residents of the Russian capital to go to sleep and leave everything to fate.
“Cover your ear with the corner of a blanket and go to sleep. If you’re unlucky, God will decide otherwise—you won’t even notice when you pass into the next world. If you’re lucky—they’ll dig you out,” said Steshin, adding that you should only start worrying when a self-propelled mortar starts firing right outside your window.
Meanwhile, Ilya Tumanov, a Z-blogger close to the Russian Aerospace Forces who runs the popular anonymous channel “Fighterbomber,” tried to convince his audience of the absolute uniqueness of Russia’s air defense.
He initially posted a message expressing “alarm and concern” over the fact that air defense had once again failed to intercept strikes on the Moscow Oil Refinery, which has been attacked before.
However, the blogger quickly deleted this post and called on everyone who had let their guard down to “get their act together.”
“An air defense system has been created around Moscow that is unmatched anywhere in the world,” Tumanov categorically asserts in his edited message to his followers.
