Putin ordered a three-day halt to attacks on Kyiv

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin ordered a three-day halt to strikes on Kyiv, effective at midnight.

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, the temporary pause is related to the preparation and conduct of meetings in the Ukrainian capital involving U.S. negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.

Putin himself is also scheduled to meet with representatives of the U.S. president today.

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that Witkoff and Kushner are scheduled to hold talks with Putin in Moscow on September 5 and meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on September 6.

U.S. President’s Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have arrived in Moscow. The American delegation is set to hold talks with Russian leader Vladimir Putin regarding an end to Russia’s war against Ukraine.

On the morning of September 5, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced new strikes on Ukraine. This announcement came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed a ceasefire in the air during the visit of U.S. President Donald Trump’s representatives, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
