Russia attacked two districts in Dnipropetrovsk region: there are casualties
On January 9, Russian forces continued shelling settlements in Dnipropetrovsk region. As a result of the attacks, one person was killed, and significant damage was inflicted on civilian infrastructure.
According to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha, during the day the enemy attacked the Samarskyi district using an attack drone.
In the Pishchanska community, a 43-year-old man was killed. A private house, three cars, a tractor, and a power line were damaged.
The occupiers also continued terrorizing the Nikopol district, using FPV drones and artillery. Nikopol, as well as the Marganetska, Myrivska, Pokrovska, and Chervonohryhorivska communities, came under attack.

The shelling damaged a hospital, a church, nine residential buildings, two utility structures, a garage, a vehicle, a gas pipeline, and power lines.
The Security Service of Ukraine released photos of fragments of the Russian “Oreshnik” ballistic missile, which the occupiers used to attack Lviv region on the night of January 8–9, 2026.
As a result of the “Oreshnik” attack in Lviv region, only two concrete floors and a collection of works by Vladimir Lenin were penetrated.
Ukraine is initiating an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council in response to the Russian ballistic missile strike on Lviv region.
