Russia attacked Ukraine with "Iskander" missiles and 151 drones; air defense forces shot down 135 drones
On the night of August 7–8, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with six Iskander-M ballistic missiles, S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles, and 151 attack drones.
The air attack began on the evening of August 7 at around 6:00 p.m.
According to the Air Force, the enemy deployed:
- six Iskander-M ballistic missiles and S-400 anti-aircraft guided missiles from the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation;
- 151 attack UAVs, including Shahed-type drones—specifically jet-powered models, “Gerbera,” “Italmas,” and “Parodia” decoy drones.
The drones were launched from various locations: Kursk, Millerovo, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as from the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk and Gvardeyskoye in occupied Crimea.
The air attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 09:00, Ukrainian air defense forces had shot down or suppressed 135 enemy UAVs of various types. The drones were destroyed or neutralized in northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
At the same time, missile strikes and 13 attack UAVs were recorded at 12 locations.
There are also reports of debris from downed aerial targets falling at seven locations.
The Air Force added that several Russian missiles failed to reach their targets. Information regarding the consequences of the attack is being clarified.
As of the time of this report, the air attack was still ongoing. Enemy drones remained in Ukrainian airspace.
Ukrainians were urged to follow safety guidelines and not to ignore air raid sirens.

In Mykolaiv on August 7, a civilian vessel in the port was damaged as a result of an attack by Russian drones. No one was injured.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces carried out 978 strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region. Three civilians were killed and four others were wounded as a result of the attacks.
The day before, Russian forces attacked the grounds of a hospital in central Kherson with a drone. Four female medical workers were injured; all suffered blast injuries and concussions.
On the night of July 19, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile strike on Kyiv. One person was killed and eight others were injured as a result of the attack. Damage and fires were reported in five districts of the capital.
Throughout the day on July 17, Russian forces carried out strikes on Kharkiv and 29 other settlements in the Kharkiv region. Two people were killed and 18 others were wounded in the shelling; among the injured were five children.
