Russia updates attack tactics, says Zelensky
President Volodymyr Zelensky received a briefing from the Commander of the Ukrainian Air Force on initial findings regarding Russia’s updated military tactics. He instructed that partners, including the United States, be informed promptly.
Zelensky reported this on Telegram following an energy sector coordination meeting.
According to the President, the most significant difficulties are currently being experienced in Kyiv and Kyiv region, Kharkiv, Dnipro region, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Odesa. Restoration work is ongoing in Rivne region.
The Air Force Commander reported the use of air defence systems to intercept Russian missiles and provided initial evidence of changes in enemy tactics. Zelensky ordered the military to immediately contact international partners and provide detailed information on the new directions of attacks, with particular focus on energy infrastructure targets.
The President also stressed the importance of supplying Ukraine with air defence systems.
"Time matters for every request and every element of supply," he said.
Zelensky added: “The Minister of Internal Affairs reported that fires at hit sites have been extinguished, and that reserve equipment is available for the capital. According to available information, at least some of the missiles used by Russia in this strike were produced earlier this year.”
During the night, a Russian missile and drone attack on Dnipro damaged a large boiler house, leaving hundreds of homes without heating.
Previously, a Russian strike damaged 12 buildings in Zaporizhzhia. Russia also attacked an energy facility in Chernihiv region, causing power outages.
The Ukrainian President provided initial reports on the consequences of Russia’s widespread strikes across the regions. Damage has been recorded in Kyiv and Kyiv region, Vinnytsia region, Dnipro region, Odesa region, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava region, Sumy region, and other areas.
