Russia to simplify land distribution in occupied Luhansk Oblast

Russian authorities plan to introduce a simplified procedure for transferring land plots in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk Oblast. Under the new rules, Russian businesses will be able to acquire land without competitive bidding.

Land will be transferred without auctions

The new rules stipulate that Russian investors will be able to purchase land plots without competitive bidding.

The terms of the land transfer will be determined by the Russian government.

“In other words, land will simply be handed out to whomever they deem necessary,” noted Oleksiy Kharchenko.

The new measures will apply not only to the Luhansk region but also to other temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine where Russia has established a so-called free economic zone.

This was reported by Oleksiy Kharchenko, head of the Luhansk Regional State Administration. According to him, in 90 days, a Russian law simplifying the conditions for the operation of the free economic zone will come into effect in the occupied territories.
