Russia strikes Zolochiv with drone; five injured and homes damaged
During the night of 18 March, Russian forces attacked the residential area of Zolochiv in Bohodukhiv district with a drone, injuring five people.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service (DSNS) of Kharkiv region.
The strike caused a fire, burning structural elements of two private houses with a total area of 180 square metres. “Despite the threat of further enemy attacks, DSNS units worked at the scene,” the rescuers said. Fourteen personnel and three pieces of equipment, including a medical team and a community rescue officer, were involved in extinguishing the fire and dealing with the aftermath.
The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, reported on Facebook that eight people were injured across Kharkiv region as a result of Russian strikes over the past day. Kharkiv city and nine settlements were affected.
In the village of Zarychne in the Starosaltivska community, a 55-year-old and a 79-year-old woman suffered acute stress reactions. In the settlement of Slatyne (Dergachivska community), a 41-year-old man was injured. In Zolochiv, men aged 53 and 56, and women aged 56, 45, and 39 were wounded.
Russian forces also attacked the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv city. The enemy used nine guided aerial bombs, five Geran-2 drones, two FPV drones, and ten other drones of types still being confirmed.
Damage was recorded in Kharkiv (a warehouse building), Bohodukhiv district (four private houses in Zolochiv), Izium district (a warehouse in Volokhovyi Yar), Kharkiv district (a private house in Budy), and Chuhuiv district (four private houses, six outbuildings, a garage in Zarychne; railway infrastructure in Zmiiv; and a private house in Zatoka).
According to Syniehubov, the transit evacuation point in Lozova received 179 people in the past 24 hours, with a total of 23,205 registered since the point opened.
Over the past day, Russian troops also carried out a massive attack on the Zaporizhzhia region, hitting hundreds of settlements and causing civilian casualties.
On the evening of 17 March, Russian occupying forces struck civilian infrastructure in the settlement of Slatyne with a drone.
On Tuesday, 17 March, Russian troops attacked the city of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region with an FPV drone. The strike hit a residential building directly, damaging its facade.
Over the past day, 16 March 2026, border communities in Chernihiv region were also subjected to attacks by Russian forces.
