Russia struck a spent nuclear fuel storage facility

Russian occupation forces launched a drone strike on the Centralized Spent Fuel Storage Facility (CSFSF) located in the Kyiv region.

As a result of the enemy attack, partial damage to the facility’s infrastructure was recorded; however, radiation levels currently remain within normal limits

According to official data, none of the facility’s personnel were injured during the incident.

The national nuclear power company "Energoatom" reported on its official channels about yet another act of nuclear terrorism by the Russian Federation.

An enemy strike drone struck the facility on June 7 at 02:10 Kyiv time.

The strike resulted in partial destruction of the container receiving building, but fortunately, no spent nuclear fuel was being stored there at the time.

Immediately after the explosion, a fire broke out at the scene, covering a total area of approximately 40 square meters. Specialized rescue units responded promptly to the call and fully extinguished the fire in the shortest possible time.

Company management assured that there is no threat to the environment and that the situation is under constant monitoring by the relevant authorities.

Energoatom issued a strong statement condemning yet another dangerous provocation by the Russian military at a critical infrastructure facility.

“This latest attack on a nuclear infrastructure facility has once again demonstrated to the entire world the true face of the Kremlin regime, which deliberately creates threats to nuclear and radiation safety. Russia continues to act as a state sponsor of terrorism and a nuclear terrorist, disregarding international law and the safety of millions of people,” the state-owned company emphasized.

This was reported by Energoatom.
