Russia strikes Cherkasy with drones, destroying houses and damaging businesses
On the night of February 2, 2026, Russian drones caused significant damage in Cherkasy. Photos and videos of the aftermath of the massive attack appeared online.
This was reported on Telegram by the head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration, Ihor Taburets.
“In the region, air defense forces and mobile fire units were operating. They intercepted 15 enemy targets. Nevertheless, Russian hardware caused considerable damage, particularly in our regional center,” he said.
According to him, four people sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized.
The consequences of the attack include a fire in the residential sector of the regional center, destruction of two houses and damage to neighboring buildings, destroyed vehicles, damage to buildings of three private enterprises and a car cooperative.
The State Emergency Service published photos and videos showing the scale of the destruction after the night attack.
Deputy Energy Minister Artem Nekrasov announced the end of the “energy truce” and the resumption of Russian strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
