Russia struck Izyum with a guided aerial bomb; there are casualties
In Izyum, Kharkiv Oblast, five people were injured as a result of a Russian airstrike. The enemy also damaged at least 15 residential buildings.
According to the investigation, on August 16 at approximately 9:30 p.m., Russian troops struck Izyum using an UMPB-5R—a guided jet-propelled aerial bomb.
At least 15 buildings were damaged as a result of the attack. Three women and two men were injured.
On August 17, around 4:00 a.m., Izyum came under another Russian attack. According to preliminary data, the occupiers used a “Geran-3” drone.
The second strike damaged apartment buildings, private homes, and vehicles.
Under the procedural guidance of the Izyum District Prosecutor’s Office of Kharkiv Oblast, pre-trial investigations have been launched into the commission of war crimes under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

As a result of the Russian attack on the Sumy region, a grain elevator belonging to the “Ukrlandfarming” group of companies sustained significant damage. Due to the scale of the destruction, the facility’s operations have been completely halted, and the grain reserves stored there have been destroyed.
During the day, Russian troops attacked a post office in Kramatorsk, Donetsk Oblast, using a drone.
In addition, Russian attack drones are targeting Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipropetrovsk region. An emergency rescue operation has already begun in the city.
In the Kherson region, four people were injured on August 16 as a result of Russian attacks. Residential buildings, a hospital wing, and other civilian infrastructure facilities were also damaged.
In addition, Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia with guided aerial bombs. According to preliminary reports, no one was injured in the attack.
On the afternoon of August 16, a Russian jet-powered drone attacked a post office located in a shopping center in a suburb of Odesa. Two people were injured in the strike.
Later, Russian forces again attacked civilian infrastructure in the Odesa region. An enemy jet-powered drone struck a residential area, completely destroying two private homes and injuring three civilians.
