Russia strikes Zaporizhzhia, damaging a kindergarten and residential buildings

The Russian army attacked Zaporizhzhia, with the blast wave damaging a kindergarten building and nearby apartment blocks.
According to the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, windows were blown out at the preschool and interior premises were damaged. There were no casualties, as children and staff were sheltering at the time of the strike.

Municipal services and law enforcement officers are currently working at the impact site to document the consequences of yet another Russian war crime against civilian infrastructure. City authorities are organising assistance for residents of damaged apartments, including boarding up broken windows and assessing the extent of the destruction. The situation in the regional centre remains tense due to the risk of renewed attacks.

Protecting civilian facilities, particularly educational institutions, remains a priority for the region amid ongoing terror by the aggressor. The kindergarten staff’s prompt response to the air raid alert proved decisive in saving the lives of the city’s youngest residents.

Earlier, Russian forces attacked energy infrastructure in the Izmail district of Odesa region, leaving several communities without electricity.
Russian strikes on Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhia regions injured a child.
Russia has attacked the energy sector in eight regions of Ukraine.
A residential building was also damaged in an attack in Khmelnytskyi region.
