Russia has begun painting "Shahed" drones white for daytime attacks
Russian troops have begun employing new tactics involving the use of "Shahed" attack drones, specifically painting them white for more effective use during the day.
This was stated by Pavlo Lakiychuk, director of security programs at the “Strategy XXI” Center, during an appearance on the “Kyiv 24” television channel.
According to him, this indicates preparations for more frequent use of drones during daylight hours.
“This is a new tactic that allows them to break through our frontline air defense. To slip through, so to speak. And what’s rare so far are daytime attacks. The ‘Shaheds’ are painted white, by the way. This means they’re industrially designed for daytime attacks. And this will obviously become more frequent,” Lakiichuk noted.
He also commented on the recent massive attack on Kyiv, during which the city was attacked by about 200 drones.
According to the expert, new approaches to drone deployment may be aimed at breaching Ukraine’s air defense.
As a reminder, Zelenskyy reported that this winter, the Armed Forces of Ukraine held all key defensive positions.
Additionally, for the first time since 2024, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated more territory in a single month than the enemy captured.
