Russia damages 686 port infrastructure objects — Kuleba

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Russia has destroyed or damaged 686 port infrastructure facilities, 150 civilian vessels, and nearly 24,000 railway infrastructure objects.

This was reported by Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Communities and Territories Development, Oleksiy Kuleba, according to the Cabinet press service.

Kuleba emphasized that logistics during wartime is critically important for national security, which is why Russia systematically targets ports, railways, roads, and other transport infrastructure.
“Logistics during a full-scale war is a matter of security and defense capability. The enemy strikes what connects the country, supports exports, business operations, and supplies to the regions,” he said.

According to the minister, Russia has carried out over 4,700 strikes on the railway system, damaging nearly 24,000 objects. Since the beginning of this year alone, 266 attacks on rolling stock and railway facilities have been recorded.

The Port of Pivdennyi has resumed navigation after a recent strike. Meanwhile, cleanup operations are ongoing in its waters and at the Port of Chornomorsk to remove oil contamination and ensure safe navigation.

The waters of the Port of Pivdennyi were closed temporarily due to an oil spill.
