Russia reports shooting down 17 drones over Crimea and the Black Sea
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that 17 drones were shot down over occupied Crimea and the Black Sea on December 26. Meanwhile, monitoring channels reported explosions, and the occupation authorities reported a fire at an infrastructure facility. The Ukrainian side has not commented on this information.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 17 Ukrainian drones were allegedly shot down over Crimea and the Black Sea on the morning and afternoon of December 26. Of these, 16 drones were reportedly destroyed over the peninsula, and one over the sea.
“16 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Crimea and one over the Black Sea between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. Moscow time,” the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
At the same time, the monitoring Telegram channel Krymskyi Veter reported a loud explosion in the Dzhankoi district around noon. Local residents described a sound similar to air defense fire, followed by an explosion.
Later, information emerged about a fire in the Feodosia district. According to Oleg Kryuchkov, advisor to the head of the occupation authorities in Crimea, a Ukrainian drone allegedly struck an “infrastructure facility” in the settlement of Islyam-Terek (Kirovske).
“As a result of the strike, a fire broke out and is being extinguished,” Kryuchkov wrote on Telegram. The occupation authorities did not specify which facility was affected, and no casualties have been reported.
