Russia launches two to three missile strikes on Ukraine each month — Ukrainian Navy

Russian naval forces go to sea every month and carry out missile launches against Ukraine an average of two to three times, according to Dmytro Pletenchuk, spokesperson for the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Speaking about recent activity, Pletenchuk noted that at the beginning of this year a large-scale use of naval-launched weapons was recorded. Two surface ships and a submarine that had not previously been deployed at sea conducted strikes involving a significant number of missiles. Despite this surge, the overall pattern remains unchanged, with Russia continuing to conduct several missile salvos per month.

He added that in most cases these strikes occur as part of large, combined missile-and-drone attacks targeting Ukraine.

Earlier, Ukraine’s air defence forces successfully intercepted Russia’s latest jet-powered Geran-4 drone, reportedly equipped with its own air-to-air missile.
In a separate operation, air defence units destroyed all ten out of ten Russian jet-powered drones that attacked Kyiv and the surrounding region during the day on 14 January 2026.
