Russia has struck the Epicenter in Mykolaiv six times

The “Epicenter” shopping center in Mykolaiv was completely destroyed after being struck six times by Russian drones on September 4. A total of 520 employees lost their jobs.

After the first four strikes, employees and rescue workers had almost extinguished the fire—only smoldering embers remained.

However, the next strike hit the mall’s furniture warehouse. At that moment, two more Russian drones were hovering over the city, preventing rescue workers and employees from approaching the source of the fire for about 30 minutes.

During that time, the fire spread to an area of about 42,000 square meters. Due to strong winds, the fire spread deeper into the building, after which the walls began to collapse.

“If it hadn’t been for that last strike, we would have saved the shopping center,” said Alexander Dmitrishin, the center’s director.

Among the 520 employees are people who had previously been transferred to Mykolaiv from damaged or destroyed locations in the chain’s network in Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa.

As a reminder, on August 28, four people were injured in Zaporizhzhia as a result of a Russian drone attack on a construction hypermarket. A massive fire broke out on the premises after the strike.

On the night of August 27, following a Russian attack in Boryspil, Kyiv Oblast, large-scale fires broke out at warehouse facilities.
