Russia attacked 10 regions of Ukraine overnight — Zelenskyy
On the night of September 12, Russian troops attacked 10 regions of Ukraine. According to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russian attack drones are still being spotted in many regions.
He said that virtually constant strikes on cities and communities have been ongoing since last night. In Odesa, emergency rescue and search operations are continuing at the site of a high-rise building damaged by a Russian missile. Thirty-seven people were injured. The search for two more people, who are currently missing, is ongoing. Emergency services are on the scene.
This morning, the Russians struck a hotel in Chornomorsk, Odesa Oblast, with a drone. Eleven people were injured, six of whom have limited mobility.
In the Zaporizhzhia region, two people were killed when a “Shahed” drone struck residential buildings. Six people were injured. There were also casualties as a result of a strike on a business in Zaporizhzhia.
In Kryvyi Rih, a missile strike hit critical infrastructure, resulting in injuries and fatalities.
Two more people were injured in the Kyiv region.
As the President emphasized, 10 regions were targeted by Russian strikes last night, and Russian attack drones are still flying over many of them.
“There were again strikes on ordinary gas stations in the Zhytomyr and Rivne regions, as well as on a locomotive depot in the Odesa region,” the head of state emphasized.
He noted that air defenders have shot down more than 200 aerial targets since the start of this day alone, but, unfortunately, not all of them.
“And when the Russians so blatantly turn ordinary people into targets of their terrorist attacks, it is regrettable that the response from world leaders does not match the level of Russian escalation. A worthy response—one that truly has a chance to stop the killings and protect people—is always a collective one. I am grateful to everyone who is helping Ukraine with anti-ballistic defense. To everyone who is putting tangible pressure on Russia. And to everyone who is helping Ukrainians, wherever they may be,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
As a reminder, on the morning of September 12, a Russian drone struck railway infrastructure in the Myrhorod district of Poltava region. Railway equipment was damaged.
