Russians in Kharkiv region attempt to expand fighting to the villages of Nesterne and Kruhle
In recent days, Russian occupation forces — in addition to the Pokrovsk and Lyman axes — have stepped up combat activity most notably near the villages of Dihtiarske, Nesterne and Kruhle in the Kharkiv region, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS) reports.
This was stated during a briefing at Ukrinform by SBGS spokesperson Andrii Demchenko.
“Recently, over the past few days, the enemy has been most active in attempting assault operations against the positions of border guard units on the Pokrovsk and Lyman axes, as well as in the Kharkiv region. As for Kharkiv region, for more than a week now the enemy has been most active in the direction of the settlement of Dihtiarske, and is also trying to expand the combat zone to neighbouring settlements — namely Nesterne and Kruhle,” Demchenko said.
According to him, all assault actions carried out by the enemy against the positions of the Donetsk Border Guard Detachment in this area were repelled. More than 160 occupiers were killed and another 146 wounded.
The spokesperson also noted that an escalation has been recorded near the settlement of Vovchanski Khutory, where enemy activity is observed daily, although no large-scale assault actions are being carried out.
Speaking about the situation in Sumy region along the border with Russia, Demchenko recalled that the border section there stretches for about 550 kilometres.
“The enemy continues to attempt to advance or assault the positions of Ukrainian defenders, in particular within the Khotin, Yunakivka and Myropillia communities, where it periodically — once again using only infantry — tries to attack Ukrainian positions. However, the enemy is unable to achieve any results or advance deeper into the territory of our country,” the spokesperson said.
He added that in the direction of the settlement of Hrabovske in the Krasnopillia community, the enemy is also not demonstrating significant activity.
“Since the moment Russian servicemen entered this settlement, they have been unable to move beyond its limits or expand the combat zone on Ukrainian territory,” Demchenko reported.
The enemy has not attempted to advance beyond Hrabovske, Demchenko added.
