Russian strike on Druzhkivka market kills seven

On 4 February, Russian forces hit a market in Druzhkivka, Donetsk region, with cluster munitions and dropped two aerial bombs on the city.

This was reported by Vadym Filashkin, head of the Donetsk Regional Military Administration, on Telegram.

According to Filashkin, the strike hit the market directly, where many people are usually present in the morning.

"This is yet another deliberate war crime and further proof that all Russian claims of a 'ceasefire' are worthless," he emphasised.

Initially, reports spoke of six dead and one injured, but the death toll later rose to seven people aged 43 to 81. Another 15 people aged 50 to 72 were wounded.

Rescue and medical teams are working on-site, assisting the victims and clearing the damage caused by the attack.

In addition to the market, the enemy dropped two aerial bombs on the city, damaging an industrial area, three apartment buildings, and three private houses.

For context, on the night of 1 February, Russian forces carried out a massive attack across Ukraine, deploying 90 drones, around 60 of which were attack drones of the “Shahed” type.

In Dnipro, two people — a woman and a man — were killed when an enemy drone struck the city.
