Over the past 24 hours, Russian occupation forces carried out a massive shelling of the border areas of Sumy Oblast, with 31 settlements in 17 local communities coming under fire.
As a result of the enemy attacks, extensive damage to civilian infrastructure has been reported, and civilians, including children, have sustained injuries of varying severity.
According to the Sumy Regional Military Administration, the intensity of hostilities remains extremely high.
In just one day, air raid alerts in the region lasted a total of 19 hours and 36 minutes, effectively paralyzing normal life in the region.
The highest number of strikes and damage was recorded in the Sumy and Shostka districts.
In total, from the morning of March 22 to the morning of March 23, 2026, 80 shelling incidents were documented, during which the enemy employed a wide range of weapons.
Attacks by unmanned aerial vehicles on civilian transport currently pose a particular danger. In the Berezivka community, an enemy drone struck a car carrying children.
In addition, medical assistance is currently being provided to a 14-year-old teenager who was injured during a drone strike in the Putivl community.
A 47-year-old man who was injured in a UAV attack in the Sumy community on March 21 also sought treatment at the hospital.
