Russian shelling in Kramatorsk leaves city without heating
On the evening of 11 January, during shelling of Kramatorsk in Donetsk Region, Russian forces destroyed a boiler house that had been providing heat to one of the city’s residential districts.
As a result, local residents were left without heating amid a significant drop in air temperatures.
The Kramatorsk City Military Administration urged residents to independently drain water from plumbing systems, as the lack of a heat carrier poses a risk of damage to pipelines.
At the same time, the situation across the country remains extremely difficult, as Russia continues deliberate attacks on critical infrastructure, seeking to use cold weather as a tool of terror against Ukrainians.
In his recent statements, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that these strikes on energy facilities have serious consequences for various regions of the country.
Further actions by heat supply companies to restore heating and hot water services currently have no clear timelines due to severe weather and climatic conditions, which only increases pressure on the local population.
