Russian Strikes Leave Over 4,000 Without Power in Zaporizhzhia District
On the evening of April 7, Russian strikes left 4,500 electricity subscribers without power in two settlements of Zaporizhzhia district, the utility company Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo reported on Telegram.
According to the company, the attacks hit the village of Balabyne, damaging multiple civilian infrastructure objects, including power equipment. Debris from enemy KAB munitions damaged several overhead power lines, causing the blackout.
“Emergency restoration work has already begun, and crews are working to repair the lines. If no new strikes occur, power will be restored by the end of the day,” said Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo head Andriy Stasevskyi.

He added that during Monday and Tuesday, energy workers restored electricity to 12,400 homes, and efforts to ensure stable power supply continue around the clock.
Meanwhile, on the night of April 8, Russian Shahed drones carried out a massive attack on southern Odesa region, damaging civilian and port infrastructure.
Russia is reportedly considering creating a so-called buffer zone in Vinnytsia region from the side of unrecognized Transnistria.
Ukraine’s air defenses neutralized 146 of 176 drones launched by Russia on April 7–8. Efforts to repel the air attack are ongoing.
