Russia Strikes Civilian and Port Infrastructure in Odesa

During the night of April 8, Russian Shahed drones carried out a massive attack on southern Odesa region, damaging civilian and port infrastructure.

This was reported by Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleg Kiper on Telegram.

He reported that a warehouse building and an outbuilding were partially destroyed. No information about casualties or injuries has been released so far.

The State Emergency Service (DSNS) stated that the strikes caused fires at port facilities and warehouses, which were quickly extinguished. Twenty-eight rescuers and seven vehicles were involved, along with the fire unit of the National Guard of Ukraine and the local fire brigade.

DSNS released footage showing firefighting efforts at the impact sites. Russian forces systematically attack ports in the Odesa region with drones and missiles, damaging infrastructure and disrupting logistics.

Meanwhile, Russia is reportedly considering creating a so-called buffer zone in the Vinnytsia region from the side of unrecognized Transnistria.

Ukraine’s air defense forces have neutralized 146 out of 176 drones launched by Russian forces since the evening of April 7. Efforts to repel the air attack are ongoing.
