Russian troops attacked the Chernihiv region with FPV drones
Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have attacked four border communities in the Chernihiv region using FPV drones, causing significant damage and resulting in deaths and injuries.
Vyacheslav Chaus, head of the Chernihiv Regional Military Administration, reported this on Telegram.
“Over the past 24 hours, the Russians have been shelling settlements in the border areas of Chernihiv Oblast. Most of the attacks involved the use of FPV drones,” Chaus said.
According to him, in the evening in Semenivka, one of the FPV drones struck a five-story residential building, causing a fire on the balcony, which rescue workers quickly extinguished. As a result of other attacks in the city, a passenger car was destroyed and a store’s roof was damaged.
In the villages of the Semenivka community, fires broke out in a house and dry grass following FPV drone strikes. In the morning, in the Snovsk community, a “Gerbera” drone struck the grounds of a local enterprise.
There were also reports of drone strikes in villages of the Menska and Horodnyanska communities, which damaged a house and a farm building. In Chernihiv on the afternoon of April 2, two people were killed and three others were injured in an explosion. Law enforcement officials are investigating the circumstances of the incidents.
The head of the Regional Military Administration specified that, in total, over the past 24 hours, Russian troops carried out 52 strikes on the region, with 65 explosions recorded.
In the village of Chabany in the Kyiv region, a strike was recorded as a result of an attack by Russian troops. The incident occurred near a local veterinary clinic. Information regarding possible damage and casualties is currently being verified. Relevant services are working at the scene.
