ASTRA journalists discovered a public Telegram group through which servicemen of the Russian Army’s 143rd Regiment had been sharing official and classified information for nearly a year.
In a chat named “F*cked-up Organization,” links to official video conferences, orders from the 5th Army headquarters, requests for ammunition, personnel rosters, as well as usernames, passwords, and two-factor authentication keys for accessing drone footage.
In addition, documents regarding intelligence activities, operational camouflage, and psychological operations were made publicly available. Among the disclosed materials are orders to create decoys of military facilities in the Vremivsky direction, simulations of equipment operations, and even instructions on fabricating fake evidence of alleged information transfers to Ukrainian intelligence services by local residents.
Journalists also found documents indicating that Russian assault units faced logistical challenges and suffered losses due to insufficient use of robotic systems. Commanders even demanded that automated platforms be equipped with Starlink terminals.
According to ASTRA, the group operated for about a year and ceased activity after May 4. In late April, administrators noticed that outsiders had begun infiltrating the chat. Following the publicity, Russian propaganda outlets reported the start of inspections within the military.
