Russian drone kills grain truck driver in Sumy region
On March 16, 2026, Russian forces carried out a targeted UAV strike on a civilian truck in the Sadivska community of Sumy region.
According to the State Emergency Service (DSNS), the attack occurred while the vehicle was being loaded with grain. The drone hit the cab directly, where the 40-year-old driver was located.

As a result of the strike, the truck caught fire, and the man died on the spot from his injuries and the blaze. The victim was not a local resident — he had come to the community specifically to transport agricultural products.
On the same day, Russian forces also carried out a targeted UAV strike on civilian infrastructure in the city of Sumy.
For context, Russian troops recently attacked the residential sector of Zaporizhzhia, causing destruction and injuries. They also targeted four Ukrposhta branches, injuring employees.
