Russian propaganda is spreading fake AI-generated videos of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers on TikTok
A new wave of Russian information attacks has begun on the social network TikTok.
As reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation, propagandists are distributing videos featuring “soldiers” generated by artificial intelligence who allegedly testify to shocking situations at the front.
In these clips, the characters spread false narratives about a supposed “collapse of defenses” and “chaos within units,” creating a misleading impression of a systemic catastrophe.
Analysts point out that the main goal of this campaign is psychological pressure on Ukrainian servicemembers, which may undermine trust within units and provoke pessimism among civilians.
Such disinformation attacks contribute to the spread of doubts about the defense’s capability and the expediency of military service. In addition, the attacks are accompanied by multilingual captions, indicating an organized network for spreading Kremlin narratives among a broad audience.
