Intelligence has estimated how many years Russia will be able to wage war
Russia has sufficient resources to continue the war against Ukraine at least through 2027 and 2028, despite a significant deterioration in its economic situation compared to the start of the full-scale invasion.
This was stated by Oleg Ivashchenko, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.
According to the intelligence chief, the enemy state is currently much weaker economically due to a shortage of labor, a growing federal budget deficit, and the deterioration of the banking system. At the same time, to deprive the occupiers of the ability to finance military operations, Ukraine must work together with international partners—in particular, to cut off the aggressor’s military-industrial complex from access to electronic components, machine tools, and specialty chemicals purchased through front companies.
The intelligence assessment reflects only Moscow’s current resource potential under present conditions; however, the tightening of sanctions and the depletion of the enemy’s capabilities could alter these calculations.
This was reported by Oleg Ivashchenko, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, in an interview with “Ukrinform.”
The Kremlin has stated that any negotiations on ending the war in Ukraine are unacceptable unless they meet all of Moscow’s demands. Even in the event of possible territorial concessions, Moscow will not stop and will continue to insist on the fulfillment of its conditions.
Lavrov noted that Russia would only be satisfied with the entire Donbas region and a change of power in Ukraine.
