Ukrainian Armed Forces bomb disposal experts have neutralized nearly half a million pieces of ammunition
Since the beginning of 2026, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense’s demining units have cleared 4,715 hectares of de-occupied territories of mines and explosive ordnance. During the first six months of the year, deminers detected and neutralized 1,914 explosive devices.
Specifically, 831.85 hectares of farmland, 16.14 km of roads, 6.72 km of power lines, and 186.33 km of railroad tracks, enabling the restoration of critical infrastructure and the return of land to safe use.
The Ministry of Defense also reported that since the start of the full-scale invasion, Ukrainian sappers have already neutralized 482,330 explosive devices and munitions. Units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service are involved in humanitarian demining operations.
The ministry emphasized that the clearance of de-occupied territories is ongoing, as the mine hazard remains one of the greatest threats to the civilian population and the recovery of affected regions.
