The SBU struck Russian ships and an S-400 system in Kerch

On June 26, Ukrainian drones operated by the Security Service of Ukraine struck two Russian military vessels and an S-400 air defense missile system in the Kerch area. The vessels “Volga,” “Vyatka,” and the ferry “Petropavlovsk,” as well as air defense systems in the Kerch Strait area, came under attack.

“Carrying out the tasks set by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as part of a 40-day operation to exert pressure on Russia, the “Alpha” unit of the SBU carried out successful strikes against military support vessels located on the territory of the “Zatoka” shipyard in temporarily occupied Kerch. Air defense systems of Russian forces in the Kerch Strait area were also targeted,” the SBU statement reads.

SBU drones struck the Project 15310 cable-laying ships “Volga” and “Vyatka,” as well as the cargo-passenger ferry “Petropavlovsk,” which was 96% complete. The strikes caused a massive fire on these vessels.

In addition, SBU drones struck weapons and a radar station belonging to an S-400 anti-aircraft missile system that was covering the Kerch Strait area.

“The SBU’s systematic efforts to strike Russian military infrastructure in the temporarily occupied Crimea deprive the enemy of the ability to use the peninsula as a logistical and military hub. The destruction of air defense systems paves the way for new precision strikes, while the neutralization of ships and port infrastructure undermines the occupiers’ ability to support their forces,” the SBU stated.
