Defense forces struck a Russian drone launch site in the Oryol region
On September 21, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a Russian facility used for storing, preparing, and launching attack drones. The strike took place near the town of Tsymbulova in Russia’s Oryol Oblast.
According to the General Staff, at least three storage facilities where Russian troops kept drones were hit during the attack.
Fires broke out at the sites following the strike.
In addition, the Ukrainian military damaged a launch pad that Russian troops used to launch jet-powered UAVs.
The attack also destroyed five launchers.
Thus, not only the drone storage facilities but also the infrastructure used to launch them were targeted.
At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has not yet disclosed exactly which types of drones were stored at the facility.
There is also no detailed information yet on the final extent of the damage inflicted on Russian infrastructure as a result of the attack.

On September 17 and during the night of September 18, 2026, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck a number of key military facilities belonging to the Russian occupation forces. Among the targets were an “Orion” UAV ground control station, a storage and launch site for attack drones, an ammunition depot, and a depot for the enemy’s logistical supplies.
