Sinyegubov made a statement about the destruction of all gas stations along the Kharkiv–Poltava highway
Reports of the alleged complete destruction of gas stations along the Kharkiv–Poltava highway are untrue. On July 28, Oleg Synyegubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, stated that there is no fuel shortage in the region and that reports of no functioning gas stations are false.
The head of the Regional State Administration assured that the region’s fuel infrastructure is operating as usual. He added that the authorities have already agreed on special security measures to ensure the stable operation of gas stations.
“Together with representatives of gas station chains, we have agreed on measures for physical passive protection. I would like to emphasize: reports by some media outlets claiming that there are no operational gas stations left on the highway from Kharkiv to Poltava are untrue. There is no fuel shortage in the region,” Sinyegubov stated.
The head of the Regional State Administration also thanked the Ukrainian military for effectively defending the skies over the Kharkiv region and its infrastructure. According to him, over the past week alone, air defense forces shot down more than 100 enemy aerial targets over Kharkiv and the region.
As a reminder, gas stations in frontline regions may be granted critical infrastructure status.
It was previously reported that after Russian attacks on the Kharkiv–Poltava highway, not a single gas station remained operational.
As a reminder, Russian drones attacked the Chernihiv region, damaging a gas station and a resort.
The WOG gas station chain in Kyiv and the Kyiv region will temporarily suspend nighttime operations due to the increased risk of enemy shelling.
