Syrsky visited the Kupiansk sector and ordered that units be reinforced with drones

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi visited units in the Kupiansk sector, where he assessed the operational situation and made a series of decisions to strengthen defenses.

Following the visit, he designated those responsible for carrying out the assigned tasks and ordered that the troops be provided with additional strike drone systems to enhance combat effectiveness.

"I worked in the Kharkiv region with troop formations and military units carrying out combat missions in the Kupiansk sector. Together with the command of the 10th Army Corps, unit and subunit commanders, we analyzed the operational situation in detail and determined the next steps to improve the situation in Kupiansk and around the city,” he wrote on Facebook on Friday.

The Commander-in-Chief also noted that, following discussions with the commanders, he had decided to reinforce the troops. “The priority is additional firepower, particularly strike drone systems. Those responsible have been designated, and a plan has been established to supply units according to their urgent needs,” Syrskyi said.

According to him, in the Kupiansk sector, the enemy continues to attack with small infantry groups and is attempting to infiltrate urban areas. Defense forces are conducting counter-sabotage operations, eliminating enemy groups, and gradually driving the occupiers out of areas where they still maintain a presence.

Syrskyi wrote about this on his social media accounts.

Over the past 24 hours, 244 combat engagements took place on the front lines. Ukrainian troops continue to repel the advance of Russian occupation forces, inflicting losses on the enemy in terms of personnel and equipment.

On the night of July 14, Russian forces launched a massive combined attack on Ukraine, using ballistic missiles, guided air-to-ground missiles, and attack drones. Air defense forces intercepted five ballistic missiles, two Kh-59/69 missiles, and 108 enemy drones.

Over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s unmanned aerial systems have struck or destroyed 1,559 Russian military targets, including 15 enemy vessels.
