Syrskyi Strengthens Defense and Logistics in Donetsk

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, conducted direct work with combat units on the most challenging sections of the front in Donetsk Oblast.

The general met with corps, brigade, and battalion commanders to make rapid decisions on strengthening Ukrainian defensive resilience and improving logistical support for the troops.

During his time at the positions, Syrskyi closely examined the specifics of combat operations in the area and discussed with officers the level of unit support.
“On the ground, I studied the specifics of combat operations in this section of the front, discussed current issues in accomplishing combat missions, and reviewed the level of support for our units,” the Commander-in-Chief noted.

The current phase of the war is significantly altering the tactics of both sides, changing traditional perceptions of the front line. According to the general, the concept of the “forward edge” is becoming blurred, as many sections of the front create specific conditions for small-unit operations.

Syrskyi emphasized that, on some front-line sections, mutual “infiltration zones” for small infantry groups can extend over 10 kilometers.

Despite challenging conditions and constant enemy attempts to penetrate deep into Ukrainian positions, the Defense Forces continue to maintain firm control. On certain axes, Ukrainian units are not only holding defensive positions but are also conducting active offensive operations.
“Despite constant enemy attempts to infiltrate our lines, Ukrainian Defense Forces units maintain designated positions and, on some front sections, carry out their own active offensive actions,” General Syrskyi emphasized in his statement.

Syrskyi also noted that Russian forces are suffering significant, sometimes critical losses in personnel and equipment. Ukrainian units are effectively using unmanned systems, artillery, and remote mining, systematically reducing the enemy’s combat potential.

Syrskyi recently awarded defenders on the Eastern axis. He has also instructed to strengthen sergeant training and anti-drone exercises.
