Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service will strengthen methods for tracking cooperation between Russia and China, — Zelensky

The head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, Oleg Ivashchenko, during a briefing to President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Russia is increasingly dependent on Chinese investments, technologies, and political priorities.

This was reported by Volodymyr Zelensky.

According to him, China is intensifying cooperation with Russia in the military sphere and is using Russian territory’s resources for its own needs.
“We are observing the strengthening of what is effectively the desovereignization of parts of Russian territory in favor of China. This primarily concerns the use of resource-rich lands and the sale of scarce resources to China,” the statement reads.

Ivashchenko emphasized that the Foreign Intelligence Service closely monitors all aspects of this cooperation and works to counter Moscow’s political campaigns, including destabilization of Ukraine, as well as to facilitate the return of Ukrainian children and the exchange of prisoners.

“I instructed the Foreign Intelligence Service to more thoroughly track cooperation between Moscow and Beijing in all aspects concerning the national interests of Ukraine and the interests of our partners in Europe and America. Global security must not lose out because Russia’s appetite for aggression has not diminished,” Zelensky said.

The president added that Ukraine will counter the activities of all entities aiding the enemy and highlighted the active role of foreign intelligence in returning Ukrainian children and facilitating prisoner exchanges.
“We will counter and block the activities of all entities helping the enemy. We also discussed the activity of Ukraine’s Foreign Intelligence Service in the efforts to return Ukrainian children and exchange prisoners,” he emphasized.

As a reminder, Russia is also urgently increasing its activity in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova — the so-called “Transnistrian Moldovan Republic” — to force Ukraine to redirect part of its resources to respond to the growing threat from the Russian enclave.
