Belgium Honored the Memory of a Fallen Ukrainian Soldier

On September 12, Belgian Defense Minister Theo Franken paid tribute to a Ukrainian soldier whom Belgian medical personnel were unable to save after he sustained burns in combat.

Franken stated that this is the first case in Belgium in which a Ukrainian soldier, who had been evacuated to Belgium for emergency medical care, could not be saved.

“Roman. A drone operator. He suffered burns and was transported to our country. Our doctors and nurses were unable to save him. We’ve succeeded dozens of times before, but not this time,” the defense minister wrote.

“Farewell, Roman. Glory to the heroes,” Theo Franken concluded his post.

As a reminder, Denis Fando, director of the Kirovohrad Invasport, was killed on the front lines.

Overnight, the Russians fired Kalibr missiles at a high-rise building in Odesa.

In the Black Sea near Odesa, two sailors from Azerbaijan were killed on September 9 as a result of a drone attack on the Somali-flagged tugboat TEDY.

In Odesa, a Russian attack on September 10 damaged the warehouse buildings of a volunteer organization where humanitarian aid and essential supplies were stored.
