Ukrainian defense forces struck a launch site for Russian attack drones in the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk. The Ukrainian military also struck a Russian army communications hub and a concentration of occupying forces in the Luhansk region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The attacks on Russian military targets in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions took place on October 4 and during the night of October 5.

In Donetsk, the Defense Forces struck three locations held by the occupiers:

  • a site used by Russian units for the storage, preparation, and launch of strike UAVs;
  • a communications hub;
  • a concentration of “manpower.”

According to the General Staff, strikes on drone storage and launch sites are being carried out to reduce the Russian Federation’s army’s capability to conduct air attacks. The Defense Forces have attacked this location several times over the past two weeks, specifically on October 4, October 3, October 1, as well as September 28, September 27, and September 23.

The General Staff also noted that Ukrainian forces struck a concentration of Russian troops in the Uspenivka area in the temporarily occupied part of Luhansk Oblast.

Earlier, the ISW explained why Russia had previously launched strikes against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

On the night of October 4, Russian forces launched 135 drones into Ukrainian territory, including “Shaheds,” “Gerberas,” “Banderole”/“Dan-T,” and decoy drones.

On the morning of October 4, Russian forces struck downtown Dnipro, hitting the premises of a telecommunications company.

In the Dnipro district of the capital, debris from enemy drones was reported to have fallen at two locations on the morning of October 4. This was reported by Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
