At least two people killed in Kyiv as a result of nighttime attack — Interia

During Russia’s nighttime attack — the aggressor state — at least two people were killed in Kyiv. This was reported by the capital’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, Interia reports. Damage and fires were recorded in several districts of the city.

Explosions in Kyiv and other cities

Overnight, explosions were heard in Kyiv, Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia. At around 4:00 a.m. local time, explosions were again heard in the capital and air raid sirens were activated.

According to Klitschko, a strike hit an area of residential development in the Obolonskyi district. A fire broke out in warehouse premises in the Podilskyi district, while fires occurred in separate areas of open terrain in the Darnytskyi district. Damage was reported in the Shevchenkivskyi district, with its nature being clarified at that time.

Air raid alert in most regions

On the previous evening, Ukraine’s Air Force reported the takeoff of three Tu-160 bombers from Russia’s Belaya airbase in Irkutsk Oblast. It later stated that Russia had also deployed six Tu-95 aircraft and urged citizens not to ignore air raid alerts and to remain in shelters.

According to Ukrainska Pravda, by morning air raid alerts due to Russian attacks were sounding in most regions of Ukraine. The outlet reported that during the large-scale attack, Russian forces simultaneously used ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as attack drones.
