Trolleybus routes in Kyiv have been changed due to damage to the North Bridge

Trolleybus routes in Kyiv have been changed due to damage to the North Bridge

In Kyiv, the routes of trolleybuses Nos. 29, 30, 31, and 47 have been temporarily changed due to damage to the overhead wire system on the North Bridge.

Currently, trolleybus service is being operated separately on the left and right banks of the capital.

On the left bank, trolleybuses on routes 29, 30, 31, and 47 are running from Miloslavska Street to Darnytska Square.

On the right bank, the routes continue to operate to the “Pochayna” metro station. Specifically:

  • Trolleybus No. 29 runs from the “Kurenivka” train platform;
  • Route No. 31 runs from the “Lukyanivska” metro station;
  • Route No. 30 runs from Kadetsky Hai Street;
  • Route No. 47 runs from the “Minska” metro station.

Therefore, passengers on trolleybuses No. 29, 30, 31, and 47 should take these temporary changes into account when planning their trips around the city.

At the same time, bus routes No. 21, 73, 101, and 114 have already resumed service across the Northern Bridge. They are operating on their regular schedules, though there may be deviations from the schedule.

The changes were caused by damage to the infrastructure of the Northern Bridge. On Saturday morning, Russian occupation forces damaged the bridge’s road surface and trolleybus overhead contact system, forcing a temporary rerouting of trolleybuses from their usual routes.

City authorities reported this on Saturday morning.

On the morning of October 3, Russian troops struck the North Bridge in Kyiv. Prior to this, a series of explosions rocked the capital amid an air raid alert and the threat of attacks by strike drones.

Prior to this, the Russian Federation—the aggressor state—had attacked a bridge in Kyiv, Ukraine, for the second day in a row. An evening drone strike on the closed South Bridge marked yet another attack on the capital’s infrastructure.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia—the aggressor state—may intensify its attacks on Ukraine ahead of the U.S. midterm elections scheduled for November 3. He made these remarks in an interview with the Spanish newspaper El País.
