The Kremlin is waiting for the results of Ukraine–U.S. talks – Peskov
Russia considers it “important to understand” the outcomes of work between the U.S. and Ukraine following Russian-American consultations in the Kremlin.
This was stated by the spokesperson for the Russian dictator, Dmitry Peskov, according to Russian media.
Peskov said: “You know that detailed work was conducted in Moscow during the meeting of Putin with Witkoff and Kushner. Afterwards, Witkoff and Kushner worked, based on the results achieved in Moscow, with the delegation of Ukrainian negotiators led by Umerov — now it is important for us to understand the outcomes of this work.”
He added that currently the parties “understand more that work needs to be done quietly.”
“Such work cannot be conducted completely publicly. It is unconstructive and, most importantly, does not lead to results. Therefore, we expect to receive such information, and then it will be clear,” summarized the Kremlin spokesperson.
The Ukrainian delegation held talks in the U.S. regarding an updated version of the American peace plan, which had been refined in Geneva.
Zelensky will meet with EU and UK leaders in London to coordinate the European-Ukrainian position on a peace agreement. This meeting will be the first in the E3 plus Ukraine format at the level of heads of state and is intended to prepare a joint strategy ahead of consultations with the American side, according to the statement of the Élysée Palace.
