Explosions Hit Military Airfields in Crimean Peninsula
On the night of February 24, the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula shook from a series of powerful explosions.
The main strikes targeted the occupiers’ strategic facilities — the Kacha airfield in Sevastopol and Saky airfield in Novofedorivka, which the enemy actively uses for attacks on mainland Ukraine.
Reports of the tense night began arriving after midnight. Eyewitnesses noted that the situation at Kacha airfield was the most intense: at least seven loud explosions were recorded, followed by massive flames.
In addition to the detonations, chaotic fire from anti-aircraft systems and heavy machine guns could be heard around the military facilities as the occupiers attempted to shoot down aerial targets.
Loud explosions and bright flashes were also reported near Yevpatoria, where the Saky airfield hosts Russian tactical aviation.
Due to the activity of Russian air defenses and falling debris, some areas of Sevastopol experienced temporary power outages.
Earlier, unknown drones attacked an oil hub in Tatarstan, and drones also struck an oil depot in Velikiye Luki, Pskov region.
