The Kerch Bridge in Crimea was temporarily closed due to drone flyovers and explosions

In the temporarily occupied Crimea, drone flights and a series of powerful explosions were reported on the night of May 13; there were also reports of a temporary closure of traffic across the Kerch Bridge.

This was reported by the Telegram channel "Crimean Wind."

According to eyewitness reports, a powerful explosion was heard around 2:55 a.m. in the area of the "Kacha" airfield, followed by a bright flash.

Explosions and activity were also recorded in the areas of Gvardeyskoye and Simferopol, where local residents reported the sounds of air defense systems and drone flights.

It is separately noted that drones were spotted heading toward the Tavriya Thermal Power Plant in the Simferopol district, which could indicate potential targets on energy infrastructure.

Amid the incidents, a temporary closure of traffic across the Kerch Bridge was reported, though the official reasons for the restrictions were not specified.

Information regarding the consequences of the strikes or possible damage to facilities is currently being verified.

As a reminder, on the night of May 8, a series of explosions rocked occupied Crimea, followed by large-scale fires at several facilities in Krasnoperekopsk. There are also reports of a strike on a military unit in Simferopol.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine have begun systematically striking the occupiers’ equipment on the key Taganrog–Dzhankoy highway, which runs through Mariupol, Berdyansk, and Melitopol. Russian propagandists confirm that Ukrainian drones are now reaching depths of up to 160–200 km from the front line, turning the former “deep rear” into a zone of active combat operations.
