Enemy strike tears apartment building apart in Kryvyi Rih

In Kryvyi Rih, a residential building was virtually torn in half following an enemy strike. Five people have been reported injured, including a child, and one man is in critical condition. Several neighbouring apartment blocks and local infrastructure were also damaged, according to the city mayor, Oleksandr Vilkul.

The heavy shelling caused serious destruction: the residential building was split in two, windows were blown out, and balconies in neighbouring buildings were damaged. Local infrastructure in the area also suffered. “At present, ten people are wounded. One man is in extremely critical condition in the operating theatre, with a leg torn off by the explosion,” said Mayor Vilkul.

Among the injured is a child, while a 57-year-old man remains in severe condition. A relief centre has been set up nearby, where residents can receive building materials, assistance with temporary housing, and submit applications for financial support from the city.

Due to the ongoing air raid alerts, the exact location of the centre is not being publicly announced. However, police and municipal workers are ready to provide information to residents on site. Local authorities are urging people to remain cautious, as there is still a threat of further “Shahed” drone strikes. “There are still many Shaheds heading our way, so please take care of yourselves,” added Vilkul.
