Explosion heard in Lviv amid Russian missile strike

Today, 11 February, an explosion was heard over Lviv as the city came under a Russian missile attack. Ukraine’s Air Force reported active air defence operations, while Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi urged residents to take immediate shelter.

At 2:47 pm, Mayor Sadovyi warned of a Russian Kinzhal missile heading towards Lviv and called on all residents to move to safe locations. Minutes later, explosions were heard in the city as air defence systems intercepted part of the threat. “I urge everyone to remain in safe places and not ignore air raid alerts,” Sadovyi wrote.

Later, the Ukrainian Air Force reported another high-speed aerial target moving towards the city. Residents were advised to remain calm, follow safety rules and monitor updates from official sources.

Authorities and emergency services are operating on heightened alert, assessing the possible consequences of the strike and coordinating rescue efforts. Residents are being asked to stay in shelters until the air raid alert is lifted and to be prepared for potential repeat attacks.
