A rescue operation has been completed in Lviv at the site of a Russian missile strike
On July 31 in Lviv, search and rescue operations were completed at the site of the Russian missile strike that occurred the day before. Rescue workers finished clearing the rubble and searching for people in the damaged buildings. The consequences of the attack and final figures on the casualties are still being determined.
This was reported by Maksym Kozytskyi, head of the Lviv Regional State Administration.
As a result of the Russian missile strike on Lviv, 38 people were injured and a 35-year-old man was killed.
“I would like to thank the rescue workers, law enforcement officers, medical personnel, utility services, volunteers, and everyone who worked at the scene of the tragedy for all these hours, helping the victims and clearing the rubble,” Kozytskyi said.
The State Emergency Service reported that 13 people, including one child, were rescued during the operation.
As a reminder, on the night of July 29, the Ukrainian Armed Forces carried out strikes on a number of military and infrastructure targets on the territory of Russia and in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Among the targets struck were the Ryazan Oil Refinery, a base for Russian Black Sea Fleet vessels, a radar station, and military logistics facilities.
SBU drones struck the Lukoil oil refinery in Perm, more than 1,500 km from Ukraine.
On July 29, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced new results of strikes against Russian facilities used to support and prolong the war against Ukraine.
