A second car exploded in Moscow today

Moscow has seen its second incident involving motor vehicles in the past 24 hours. Following the morning bombing of a colonel’s car in Balashikha, a new incident occurred in southwest Moscow in the Konkovo district on Vvedenskogo Street, where a car exploded and caught fire in a parking lot. 

Due to the emergency, law enforcement officers cordoned off the area, blocked traffic in the vicinity of the incident, and urgently evacuated shoppers and staff from nearby stores. 

Subsequently, local news outlets released a preliminary official account of the incident, stating that the car’s engine compartment had spontaneously combusted and that the fire was quickly extinguished. No information regarding injuries or fatalities resulting from this incident has been reported so far.

On the morning of June 9, a BMW X3 exploded in Balashikha, near Moscow, killing the driver. The incident occurred in the Aviatorov neighborhood on Koldunova Street.

In the city of Balashikha, Moscow Region, a high-ranking military officer—Russian Army Colonel Damir Davydov—was killed when his own car was blown up. The occupier headed the department for the supply of missiles and artillery ammunition at the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense
