Russian officials have estimated the losses resulting from the SBU's "Pavutin" operation
The Russian Ministry of Defense has estimated the damage caused by Ukraine’s “Spider’s Web” operation at 2 billion rubles. This refers to damage to aircraft resulting from attacks on military airfields in the summer of 2025.
The figure is cited in the materials of a criminal case, the investigation of which was completed by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia. This is reported by Russian media.

The operation took place on June 1, 2025, simultaneously in four regions of the aggressor country: Irkutsk, Murmansk, Ryazan, and Ivanovo. Over a hundred FPV drones were used for the strikes; these had been smuggled into Russian territory in advance in trucks disguised as civilian goods.
The defendants in the case are four truck drivers—Mikhail Ryumin, Alexander Zaitsev, Andrei Merkuriev, and Sergei Kanurin. Russian investigators claim that they were part of an organized group.
The men are charged with committing a terrorist act, as well as the illegal acquisition and transportation of explosive substances. They have now begun reviewing the case materials, which total approximately 90 volumes.
The drivers themselves do not admit guilt and claim that they were used. According to the defendants, they were unaware of the cargo’s contents, as the documents stated they were transporting disassembled prefabricated houses.
It should be noted that in Russia, the case regarding the Ukrainian operation “Spiderweb” is proceeding along a similar pattern to the investigation into the bombing of the Crimean Bridge.
The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) conducted a large-scale covert operation codenamed “Spiderweb,” the aim of which was to attack Russian military airfields.
The head of Russia’s FSB, Alexander Bortnikov, accused the British intelligence service (MI6) of assisting the SBU in carrying out the famous “Spiderweb” operation, during which dozens of Russian strategic aircraft were destroyed or damaged.
On June 1, the Security Service of Ukraine carried out a large-scale special operation “Spiderweb,” striking four Russian strategic airfields—Olenya, Belaya, Dyagilevo, and Ivanovo—with drones.
As a result, 41 enemy aircraft were hit, including A-50 reconnaissance aircraft, as well as Tu-95 and Tu-22M3 strategic bombers.
