Russia fails to recruit students for its drone forces
In Russia, the campaign to recruit students for the unmanned systems troops has failed.
This was reported by Z-blogger Oleksandr Vaskovskyi.
According to him, after several months of promotion, fewer than 2,000 students signed contracts. Most of them were low-performing students, who were offered academic leave with the possibility of later transfer to budget-funded programs, or were threatened with expulsion.
Hundreds of educational institutions, including leading universities, were involved in the recruitment effort. Students were encouraged to become drone operators, with one-year contracts offered, yet the campaign’s results remained low.
Earlier, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi stated that the strategic goal of the invaders is currently to seize additional territories in order to create a so-called “buffer zone” within the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Ukraine’s Defense Forces are also adapting military training to more effectively counter enemy drones and other modern battlefield threats.
