Blocking of Starlink has halted Russian assault operations at the front
Russian forces at the front have faced serious problems in recent days due to the blocking of Starlink terminals. Command and control has been significantly disrupted, and assault operations have been partially halted.
This was stated by Serhii Beskrestnov, adviser to the head of the Ministry of Defence on technological matters, in a Facebook post.
“The enemy doesn’t just have problems at the front — the enemy is facing a catastrophe. All command and control has collapsed. Assault operations have been stopped in many areas,” Beskrestnov stressed.
According to him, problems on the Ukrainian side have arisen only in those units that did not promptly submit lists of private Starlink terminals, but the registration process is ongoing.
It should be recalled that on 23 January it was reported that Russian forces were increasingly using drones equipped with Starlink in an attempt to bypass Ukraine’s air defence system.
Ukraine continues to verify Starlink terminals. The first batch of terminals included on the “white list” is already operational.
Earlier, it was reported that on the evening of 4 February, Starlink satellite communications allegedly partially stopped working on both sides of the front line.
Ukraine’s Minister of Defence, Mykhailo Fedorov, urged commanders of the Defence Forces at all levels to organise the verification of Starlink terminals, stressing the need to submit terminal numbers via the DELTA system for inclusion on the “white list”.
